In Metroid Prime, movement is the highest priority of the game; it is very important to get the fundamentals down, as this is what helps you improve and go faster.
Listed are various movement forms and their speed caps:

* Jumping
* L-Jumping
* R-Jumping
* Bunny Hopping

Dashing
*Standard walking (11.84)
Dashing is the second fastest form of movement and is useful in many situations.
*Walking while holding L (11.8)

*Dashing (35+)

*Rolling (20)
* Double Jump Dashes
*Boosting (uncapped)

Morph Ball
Some other notes:
Morph Ball is one of the most useful forms of movement, and is good when jumping or dashing is inconvenient.

Out of Bounds
Out of bounds is probably the most complicated thing in the game.

General Movement

Fastest to Slowest: Rolling (Bottom Right), L-Jumping (Bottom Left), Holding L (Top Right), Walking (Top Left)

Listed are various movement forms and their speed caps:

 • Standard walking (11.84)
 • Walking while holding L (11.8)
 • Dashing (35+)
 • Rolling (20)
 • Boosting (uncapped)

Some other notes:

 • While you have a faster speed in general without holding L, you accelerate to that speed faster while holding the L button. (see also: The L Button)
