Mine Security Station is a room located in the Phazon Mines region of Metroid Prime. It is a room divided into two floors. Upon first arrival, the first floor will have a few invisible pirates, whereas the second floor will have a set of Wave Troopers, which notoriously pose a challenge in low% speedruns due to their high damage and unpredictable behavior. In 100% speedruns, going through this room is also required in order to get Flamethrower in Storage Depot A, which is blocked by a forcefield. In order to deactivate this forcefield, the player must first destroy the gate on the second floor using a Power Bomb. From there, a scan is revealed that deactivates the forcefield.
