Catacombs is a room located on the lower level of Torvus Bog in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It is mostly significant in speedruns due to its connection with the room Dungeon, which contains one of the Sky Temple Keys.
Accessing the Portal Without Lowering the Gate
The gate blocks access to the portal. However, there is a large gap between the collision of the gate and the platform that it protects, which can be abused from under. By performing a Screw Attack onto the correct section of the wall, Samus will bounce onto the platform, enabling her to use the portal without needing to lower the gate.
Lowering the Gate Without Gravity Boost
By performing an Underwater Dash, it is possible to lower the gate without Gravity Boost. This is useful if you need to access the portal without either Gravity Boost or Screw Attack.
