Biotech Research Area 1 is a room in the Space Pirate Frigate region of Metroid Prime. It contains a Secret World, which is used in every speedrun category to get to the end of the Frigate Escape sequence faster. The wallcrawl that is used to do this is colloquially known as the Frigate Wallcrawl, as it is the only significant wallcrawl that is commonly performed within the Frigate. This was secret world #44 in the original numbering scheme.
Secret World
Unlike most other Secret Worlds, this is a Morph Secret World, which is possible entirely because the geometry where it is performed is so small that the game can erroneously reposition Samus Out of Bounds when morphing in a precise position.
Alternate Method
This method is not used in runs, as it's way more difficult to perform and wastes more time if it fails. It is possible to get out of bounds through the connection to Subventilation Shaft Section A with a dash and a 1-frame Bunny Hop to clear the door and beat the load.
