Dark Torvus Temple

Dark Torvus Temple is a room in Dark Torvus Bog in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It is the room where the Chykka boss fight takes place, which guards the Dark Visor.

General Overview

The Chykka boss fight can only be activated when the player has gathered all three Dark Torvus keys, as this changes the layer of the room to create the proper conditions for the fight to take place. It is impossible to skip doing this, as the triggers that activate the boss fight will not exist until the layer has properly changed.

While in the larva phase of the Chykka boss fight, it is possible to open the door and enter Dark Controller Access. If the player unloads the room while the Chykka boss fight is ongoing, the room will reload on an incorrect layer, effectively locking the player in and forcing them to reset. The fight cannot be triggered again, rendering Dark Visor unattainable.

Secret World

Much like in Torvus Temple, it is possible to use Screw Attack in the Morph Ball tunnel to go out of bounds.

Floaty

If the player doesn't have Light Suit in their inventory, standing on the dark water before activating the Chykka fight will allow the player to get Floaty Jump, making this one of the only places in the entire game where floaty can be attained.
