Disc Version Meaning

Where the version string is located

A Gamecube disc will have version identifier printed on the inner border of the disc just before the data section. This identifier will describe the platform (DOL), the Game ID, the version, and the region the disc was printed in.

Example: DOL-GM8E-0-00 USA

GM8E-0-00

This is the original NTSC release of the game.

GM8E-0-01

This was a small patch release before the players choice version was released. A notable patch for speedruns was Arboretum Gate Skip.

GM8E-0-02
