Research Lab Aether is a room located in the Phendrana Drifts region of Metroid Prime. It contains an energy tank and a missile expansion. The door connecting to Research Core Access is a vertical door.

Encountering and defeating the Metroid in this room disables layers "1st metroid intro" and "1st metroid encounter".
When the glass at the top of the room is broken by the Space Pirate known as Edward, layer "Glass Gone" is disabled.
Acquiring the Thermal Visor in Research Core disables layer "1st pass - Space Pirates" in this room, and enables layer "2nd Pass Enemy Loadout".
