for this Secret World
Morph Ball
Varia, Gravity, Phazon Suit, or Energy Tanks

Overview

Triclops have unique properties when Samus breaks out of their grasp when they reach the point to spit Samus out. Because of this, if the Fiery Shores Triclops enters its Butter State and Samus is regrabbed in a particular spot, the Triclops will drop Samus out of bounds, ignoring any collision in the way. To do this, first enter Morph Ball and let the Triclops grab you. Then roughly when it reaches its spot to spit Samus out, wiggle the left stick around to try and get instantly released. If done correctly, the Triclops will play its animation of spitting you out, but Samus will not be launched into the lava and instead is dropped out with little speed. If the stick is wiggled too late, the Triclops will launch Samus into the lava. If the stick is wiggled too early, you will be instantly released and the Triclops will play a shaky animation. If you did this correctly, the Triclops enters Butter State. Then, roll towards the rock in the wall and when the Triclops approaches, precisely move the stick so the Triclops attempts to grab you and it moves out of its set path, and then let it grab you. If done correctly, the Triclops will spit you cleanly through the wall and out of bounds. If done incorrectly, the Triclops will spit you out but Samus is repositioned to the sides of the Triclops or on top of the Triclops or Samus gets dropped away from the correct spot.

Setup instructions

The most consistent setup available is one made by JustinDM. Instructions in video description:

  1. Move as I do to the Triclops and set up an instant release. The lineup isn't too precise (as can be seen in the second clip), but you're roughly aiming for the triclops to be lined up with the rock in the back. Visual
  2. Once released, roll to the same rock and position yourself about 1/4 of the way over the rock. Visual
  3. When the Triclops claw "touches" the left side of the ball, in one smooth motion, press left on the analog stick and circle counter clockwise to up right.

Notable Uses

Early Power Bombs

One common use of the Fiery Shores Secret World is to obtain the Power Bomb Expansion early using an Infinite Boost with Boost Ball After performing the Secret World, move in a particular spot above the Power Bomb Expansion and enter Morph Ball so that you have downwards speed onto backfaced collision. Then, given you are in the right spot, boost 6 or more times to generate enough downwards speed and unmorph. If done right, Samus should cleanly move through the collision and into the space with the expansion.

Presence in Routes

Because Magmoor Caverns has very scarce options to get out of bounds and the Secret World is in the same room as to a Power Bomb Expansion, the Fiery Shores Secret World has seen use in a variety of speedrunning routes.

Any%

The Double IS Route's modularity is applicable to this Secret World, as the Fiery Shores Secret World can be used to pick up the Power Bomb Expansion after obtaining the Wave Beam as an alternative to the Magma Pool Infinite Speed, which is about 20 seconds faster.
