Boost Jumping (also known as Boost Rolljumping (BRJ) or Boost Boost) is a trick in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes that abuses Instant Unmorphs in order to maintain a horizontal speed well beyond the normal limits. Fundamentally, the trick is the same as a standard Roll Jump, both mechanically and in terms of inputs, but its practical uses depend on how the Instant Unmorph is gotten.

If performed optimally, a Boost Jump will have Samus maintain a speed of over 30 units. That is over double the intended speed cap, making it one of the fastest forms of movement in the game.

Notable Uses

Grand Abyss

This method of crossing Grand Abyss is by far the easiest method of crossing the gap.

Torvus Transport Access (Temple Grounds)

In this room, Hive Dash used to be performed in order to go out of bounds. However, the boost jump method provides an alternative way of getting the SW.
