Grand Abyss Any% Route

Notes 

  • This route document will only be addressing the Grand Abyss route. It will, however, go into alternatives for 2-Tank Quad Skip and Hive Dash.
  • Room names will always be in Bold.
  • There are safety Missiles in this route. I recommend picking them up.

Abbreviations 

  • ME = Missile Expansion
  • ET = Energy Tank
  • PB = Power Bomb
  • STK = Sky Temple Key
  • DTK = Dark Temple Key
  • SA = Screw Attack

Agon 1

  • Enter Hive Chamber A and jump through the hole to go Out of Bounds
  • Wallcrawl to Industrial Site and doorwarp Collapsed Tunnel
  • Grab the Energy Tank in Storage Cavern B
  • Go out of Bounds in Temple Assembly Site
  • Wallcrawl to Dynamo Chamber. Once transitioned, transition back to TAS
  • Collect the Power Bomb expansion from out of bounds
  • Head out and Wallcrawl back to Industrial Site, doorwarp Agon Transport Access
    • If you aren’t doing Hive Dash, collect the Missile in Transport to Agon Wastes
  • Use the Elevator and enter Agon
  • If you are doing Two Tank Quad skip, immediately go for the Sandigger Secret World via the closest worm. Otherwise, head up to Mining Station Access and grab the E-Tank. Head out and do Sandigger SW.
  • Wallcrawl to Main Reactor
  • Defeat Dark Samus 1 with a Power Bomb
    • IF DARK SAMUS IS ON SCREEN WHEN SHE DIES, THE GAME WILL LIKELY CRASH OR SOFTLOCK! ROLL TOWARDS A CORNER AS SOON AS YOU LAY IT
  • Use the Elevator and collect Dark Beam
  • Head to Command Center and use the portal
  • PB the rubble in Dark Oasis. Proceed as normal to collect Light Beam
  • Use the portal in Dark Oasis 
  • Head to Transport to Sanctuary Fortress and enter Sanctuary

Sanctuary 1

  • Collect a PB drop in Agon Transport Access, then blow up the glass in Hall of Combat Mastery
  • Head up the Elevator and enter Dynamo Works
  • Enter Dynamo Access, perform the Morph SW and do Gyro Skip
  • Head to Watch Station Access and do the rolljump across
    • If you want to get a 4th energy tank, pick up this energy tank now. Otherwise, pick it up after Screw Attack.
  • Scan the post to save IGT and enter Watch Station
  • Enter Grand Abyss
  • Dash onto the robot and enter Vault
  • Perform Vault Dash and use the Boost Slots
  • Collect Screw Attack
  • Head back to Watch Station and activate the Bomb Slot

2/3 Tank Route

  • Enter WSA and collect the E-Tank
  • Exit to Dynamo Works, do the SA SW and wallcrawl to Dynamo Storage
  • Use the Portal and go out of bounds in Hive Dynamo Works
  • Hit terminal fall to spawn on the other side
  • Enter Hive Dynamo Access and go out of bounds
  • Do Quad Skip
  • Enter the portal in Aerial Training Site 

4 Tank Route

  • Enter Central Area Transport West, collect the Missile if you want
  • Head to reactor core, collect the E-Tank
  • Enter Minigyro Chamber and solve the puzzle
    • Amber
    • Cobalt
    • Crimson
    • Emerald
  • Use the portal in Hall of Combat Mastery
  • Head to Hive Dynamo Access
  • Do Quad Skip
  • Enter the Portal in Aerial Training Site
  • Head to Main Gyro Chamber and use the elevator up to enter Temple Access
  • Fight the Quad and enter Sanctuary Temple
  • Return the energy, collect Cobalt Translator
  • Go out of bounds
  • Get Cannon Ball
  • Wallcrawl to Temple Access
  • Let Main Gyro Chamber load around you
  • Head to Transport to Agon Wastes
  • Enter Agon

Light Suit

  • Head to Sandcanyon
    • DO NOT USE THE CANNON OR YOU WILL LOSE CANNON BALL
  • Enter Agon Temple
    • If you are not doing Hive Dash, head right and collect Amber Translator now.
  • Go to Mining Station A, hit the two crates if Dark Ammo/Power Bombs are needed
  • Go to Save Station A and go out of bounds with an SA SW
  • Wallcrawl to Transport to Torvus Bog, let the room load around you
  • Enter Torvus
  • Go out of bounds in Transport to Agon Wastes via a 2BSJ
  • Transition to Torvus Temple, shoot the dark door to initiate the Pirate Fight
  • Kill the dudes from out of bounds
  • Finish the pirate fight
  • Collect Super Missiles with a scan dash, head for Transport to Temple Grounds
  • Enter Temple Grounds
    • If you are not doing Hive Dash, ignore these two steps.
  • Perform Hive Dash
  • SA past the Super Missile door
  • Enter Meeting Grounds
  • Use the halfpipe and go to Hall of Honored Dead
  • Do the Seeker Missile Puzzle
    • Red x1
    • Cyan x1
    • Yellow x3
    • Purple x2
  • Collect Seeker Missiles 
  • SA back into the ball tunnel and go back to Meeting Grounds
  • Fall off of the halfpipe and roll towards the “Amber” gate to load the elevator
  • Go back up the halfpipe and do the BSJ to get onto the branch, SA into Temple Transport C
  • Enter Great Temple
  • Do the Morph SW in Temple Transport C and wallcrawl to Temple Sanctuary
  • Ignore the Splinter fight and go up the elevator
  • Collect Violet Translator and collect Light Suit
    • If you did not do Hive Dash, ignore the next step and warp straight to Torvus.
  • Warp to Agon

Torvus

  • Head for the door in Agon Energy Controller until the door locks
  • Collect Amber Translator
  • Warp to Torvus
  • Collect Emerald Translator
  • Scan the Elevator in Torvus Temple 
  • Use the Elevator, then scan the Emerald Gate as the elevator is going down
  • Go to Lower Torvus
  • Perform Air Underwater, then SA to the Scan Panels
  • Collect Gravity Boost 
  • Attempt to get Air Underwater when going back to Main Hydrochamber 
    • If you got Air Underwater, SA Alpha Blogg and use the portal in the room
  • Otherwise, do Alpha Blogg skip and use the portal
    • If you did not SA Alpha Blogg, collect the Dark Temple Key now.
  • Defeat Power Bomb Guardian
  • Collect Main Power Bombs
  • Head to Undertemple Access and collect Dark Torvus Key 1
  • Go back to the light world
  • Kill the Seahorsies to get Light and Dark Ammo
    • Optional Safety Missile: Hydrodynamo Station
  • Leave Lower Torvus
  • Head left towards Torvus Grove
    • Optional Safety Missile: Underground Tunnel
  • Use the Halfpipe and enter Grove Access 
  • Enter Forgotten Bridge and use the Boost Slot
  • Use the portal
  • Go to Dark Torvus Arena and collect Dark Temple Key 2
  • Backtrack to Dark Forgotten Bridge
  • Go to Venomous Pond
  • Collect Dark Temple Key 3
  • Beat up Chykka
  • Get Dark Visor
  • Reload Dark Torvus Temple then head to Poisoned Bog
  • Collect Sky Temple Key 1
  • Use the Portal
  • Collect the Missile
  • Go out of bounds with a ghetto and let Great Bridge load around you
  • Go back to Lower Torvus
  • Head for the Dark Door in Hydrodynamo Station 
  • Enter Catacombs and use the portal
  • Collect Sky Temple Key 2 
  • Go back up to Torvus Temple, use Transport to Agon Wastes to enter Agon
ME: 15 | ET: 2 | STK: 2/9 | PB 3

Agon II

  • Do a 3BSJ to the portal. If you fail it, just use the halfpipe to reach the portal
  • Collect the Missile and fall off to the left. Try to shoot the Bladepods to get more Missiles
  • Weird Cutscene
  • Go to Judgement Pit, then head to Battleground
  • Collect Sky Temple Key 3
  • Head to Dark Oasis
  • Collect Sky Temple Key 4
  • Use the portal, head to Transport to Sanctuary Fortress
  • Enter Sanctuary
ME: 20 | ET: 2 | STK: 4/9 | PB 3

Sanctuary II

  • Use the Portal in Culling Chamber
  • Head to Hive Entrance and collect Sky Temple Key 5
  • Go back to Culling Chamber and use the Central Hive East Transport elevator
  • Do the Hive Dynamo Works Morph SW, land on the ledge by the key, then enter terminal fall
  • Collect Sky Temple Key 6
  • Use the portal in Hive Cache 3
  • Go out of bounds in Dynamo Works
  • Move along the room then SA to Worker’s Path
  • Head to Sanctuary Energy Controller
  • Warp to Great Temple

Endgame

  • Head down, scan all of the gates
  • Go right, use the elevator
  • Use the portal in Temple Assembly Site
  • Collect Sky Temple Key 7 in Accursed Lake 
  • Head back, use the portal, go back to Great Temple
  • Enter Temple Sanctuary, go right
  • Use the portal in Sacred Path
  • Head to Ing Reliquary
  • Collect Sky Temple Key 8
  • Head back, use the portal, enter great temple
  • Enter Temple Sanctuary, go right
  • Go to Hall of Eyes and use the portal
  • Go to Defiled Shrine
  • Collect Sky Temple Key 9
  • Return the Keys
  • Restock on Missiles if needed
  • Emperor Ing
  • Dark Samus
  • Centered
