Defeating the Parasite Queen and passing through Reactor Core changes layers in these rooms that are traversed during the Frigate escape sequence:
- Biotech Research Area 1 - Enables layer "QUEEN FIGHT 2nd Pass".
- Air Lock - Disables layer "Music Test" and enables layer "Flames"
- Exterior Docking Hangar - Disables layers "Intro Opening", "POI", and "Crates" and enables layer "Intro Closing".
Parasite Queen Forcefield
The forcefield guarding Parasite Queen starts rotating once the room is loaded, even before the Parasite Queen fight is initiated. This has implications for speedruns, as skipping the cutscene at the correct time will set up the forcefield in the correct position for an optimal fight. The timing for the cutscene skip differs between Single Segment and Segmented speedruns.
