Great Tree Hall is a room located in the Tallon Overworld region of Metroid Prime. It is a large vertical room that connects multiple areas together, including the Crashed Frigate, the starting area of Phazon Mines and the farthest areas of Chozo Ruins. It has three sections: the underwater section that contains Gelzaps that leads to the crashed frigate, the above-water section that consists of various platforms that have Seedlings living on them, and the top section that contains the connections to Chozo Ruins, Great Tree Chamber and Life Grove Tunnel. The top section has an invisible platform that can be seen with X-Ray Visor, but X-Ray isn't required to stand on it. Between the middle and top sections is a set of bars which blocks entry to the rest of the room, though this can be skipped with Bars Skip. The bars can also be cleared normally with Boost Ball.

Using the Boost Ball to open the pathway blocked by bars disables layer "Gate Unsolved" in this room, and enables layer "Gate Solved".
Bars Skip
Bars Skip is a major skip that allows for Samus to get to the Phazon Mines without going through the Crashed Frigate. It consists of a somewhat precisely timed double bomb jump on the right side of the bars. The second bomb in this bomb jump needs to be laid within a 21 frame window. This is because Samus will have more vertical momentum to clear the height needed to do the skip. If the timing is correct, Samus will be able to go through the hole to skip the bars. This can be done from both ends, which allows for Boost Ball to be skipped.
Bars Skip cannot be done in the Trilogy version of the game, however it can still be done on the Japanese Wii de Asobu version.

Without Spider Ball
It is possible to make it to the door leading to Life Grove Tunnel without Spider Ball. This is done by landing on a series of standable spots on the Spider Ball tracks themselves. With the Space Jump Boots, this is fairly easy, although the final jump to LGT is pretty particular. You need to be moving back as you're doing the final jump, otherwise Samus will bonk her head on the bottom of the platform and won't be able to land on it.
